The History of Asian Youth Culture
An exhibition by True Form Projects CIC and funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund. Coming Soon to Birmingham in 2018.
By 2000, Asian people have firmly settled in Britain. It is home. Many young Asians today are third, if not fourth, generations. In many cases, their grandparents, even great grandparents, migrated here in the 1950s and 1960s. While things are not perfect they live in a time where there are improved opportunities and growing expectations.
EXPLORE: Learn more about life for Asian youth in the 2000s-present
For this period we have collected the stories of three groups of people: MMA fighters, young Asian women and young people at a Birmingham student night.
