We want your help!

‘It could be your first love of music, study, business, food, culture, sport, beliefs, subcultures, politics, anything that describes your formative years between 15-25 years old.’

The Asian Youth Culture (1960s- 2000s) project is looking to collect stories and experiences of South Asian people growing up in Birmingham. We are looking to photograph, film and record oral histories from anyone who would like to contribute. If you’d like to take part and for us to visit you/meet up, please let me know. We will have an exhibition in Birmingham City University and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in Spring next year and are eager to collect as much as possible before then!

Our team will be collecting any archive that you’d like to share, and we can film, photograph or record depending on what is possible. If you would like to get involved please email us at [email protected].
